There are large communities of British people that now live in countries like the United States and Spain, which have always been popular destinations to relocate to. It is easy to see the appeal of these countries with their warm climiates and the fact that they speak a lot of English so what is it that is so attractive about Switzerland?

The Countries Position In Europe – Found at the heart of Europe, Switzerland is perfectly placed for visiting other countries. This means that travelling to other countries for a holiday can be as simple as a car drive rather than a 5 hour flight. The top destinations for tourists such as Holland, Italy, Croatia and Germany can all be reached with very little hassle.

The Slopes – The Swiss Alps border France, Italy and Austria and are home to some of the best skiing facilities in the world. A lot of people have taken up sking and snowboarding as a lifestyle and are now looking to move to areas that provide good snow during the ski season. This has lead to a number of people investing in Swiss chalets and French ski property. These sorts of alpine property are typically found in and around the ski resorts and are typically only used during the ski season.

Its Good To Be Neutral – During the two World Wars and other conflicts the Swiss have always chosen to remain a neutral country. The Swiss military has a limited number of professional soldiers but does have national conscription this could explain why they only tend to take part in peace keeping operations. It is for this reason that Switzerland only spend what they need to on military operations, barracks and weaponary. This means that more money from tax is spent on public services which is why Switzerland has some of the best public healthcare, transport and other services in the world.
