Switzerland’s Geographical Location – Switzerland is placed practically in the middle of Europe. Rather than having to pay for a costly flight for a holiday, nearby countries can be reached easily and affordably by train or car. Some of the top tourist destinations in Europe such as Germany, Holland and France are literally a stones throw away.
The Snow – The Alps of Switzerland share a border with some of the finest ski resorts in the world including France, Austria and Italy. This means that these areas are very popular among skiers and snowboarders. As more people have begun to take up the sports the more affluent have invested in both French ski property and Swiss chalets. It is therefore unsurprising that a lot of these sorts of alpine property are only used during the ski season and are located close to the various ski resorts.
Its Good To Be Neutral – Switzerland has always remained neutral when it comes to war. The Swiss military has a limited number of professional soldiers but does have national conscription this could explain why they only tend to take part in peace keeping operations. This has meant that Switzerland don’t spend a vast amount on military operations, weapons and more. As a result larger amounts of the Swiss public’s taxes can be spent on public services. This is why Switzerland is home to some of the best public transport, healthcare and other services in the World.
